72 Year Old Suspended Driver Charged Following Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Cockshutt Road, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at approximately 2:13 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two (2) vehicles.

Through the course of investigation, it has determined that a 22-year-old female of Norfolk County, Ontario was travelling northbound on Cockshutt Road when her vehicle collided with a motor vehicle travelling westbound on Concession 11. As a result of the collision, she was transported to a local area hospital by Paramedics to be treated for minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

As a result of investigation, police have charged 72-year-old Jerry Loyal WILLIAMS of Norfolk County, Ontario with two (2) counts of driving while under suspension and fail to yield to traffic on a through highway.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
