71 Year Old Pharmacist Charged With $116,000 Fraud

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch Health Fraud Investigation Unit have charged a pharmacist/former owner of a Windsor pharmacy with fraud. Police allege that between 2009 and 2011, billings in the amount of $116,336.88 were submitted to the Ontario Drug Benefit Plan for drug products that were not dispensed.

Ahmed Al Tamimi, age 71, of Windsor was charged with Fraud over $5000. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on November 25, 2015 to answer to the charge.

The Anti-Rackets Health Fraud Investigation Unit is comprised of OPP investigators who investigate allegations of fraud relating to the Ontario Health Care System on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
