Joint OPP and Barrie Drug Investigation leads to substantial seizure
The Barrie Police Service Street Crime Drug Unit worked in cooperation with the OPP Central Drug Unit on an investigation originating with the Department of Homeland Security in the US.
The investigation led to a Wellington Street address and the arrest of a 38 male and a 47 year old female and the seizure heroin of a street value of approximately $70,000.
This investigation was a great example of efficient sharing of information and resources between agencies leading to the common goal, the interruption of drug dealers and the plying of their trade within the City of Barrie.
The pair face charges of importing heroin, possession for the purpose of heroin and possession of heroin.
The investigation is continuing and as such no further information is being released at this time.
