(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On January 29, 2018 at approximately 10:06 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information with respect to an alleged assault on a child. The victim, a 7-year old boy, from the Township of Southgate, suffered minor injuries that were treated at hospital.
Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the Grey Bruce Child & Family Services, investigated the incident which resulted in the arrest of a 28-year old Southgate man.
The accused is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief. A bail hearing is scheduled for January 30, 2018.
