500 Pigs Missing

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from a Norfolk County Road 28, Houghton, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, June 19, 2015 at approximately 9:50 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned resident after several animals went missing between Tuesday, April 21, 2015 and Friday, June, 19, 2015.

Through the course of investigation it was determined that the resident had been raising several thousand animals and after conducting an inventory determined that approximately 500 pigs were missing.

The theft of the animals is estimated at approximately $90,000 dollars.

Police are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information regarding this occurrence they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
