On December 27, 2014 the Guelph Police conducted a R.I.D.E. Program that resulted in 450 vehicles being checked, 13 Approved Screening Device tests administered and one person arrested for drive over 80mgs.
Maria Mercado-Gonzalez, 54 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80mgs. She will appear in court on January 13, 2015.
Guelph Police would like to remind drivers that throughout the holiday season they will continue to conduct random spot checks for persons driving under the influence of alcohol. Registering breath samples over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood will result in an immediate 90 day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension. Convictions for impaired driving and driving with over 80 mgs will both result in a minimum twelve month driving prohibition.
