(Norwich Township, ON) – On Friday, September 25th, 2015 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, Oxford County OPP, Oxford County Property Crimes Unit, West Region ERT, Organized Crime Unit, and West Region Forensic Identification Services, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property situated on Oxford Road 55, Norwich Township, Oxford County, Ontario.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant on Oxford Road 55, the police revealed a large, sophisticated indoor cannabis marihuana grow operation. Police seized cannabis marihuana and cocaine from this location. The combined estimated street value of seized controlled substances is approximately $4,000,000.00.
Police also seized offence related property that consisted of vehicles, trafficking equipment, cash, and a restricted hand gun. The combined estimated value of the offence related property is approximately $120,000.00.
Arrest warrants will be sought for several individuals for the following offences: production of marihuana, possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of a restricted weapon, possession of a prohibited device, and unsafe storage of a firearm and ammunition.
