4 Tractor Trailers and Dump Truck Involved In Collision

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – All lanes of the 401 eastbound are now re open to traffic at Highbury Rd.

The investigation thus far has revealed that:

The first tractor trailer was almost at a stop due to construction traffic

The second tractor trailer slowed down for construction traffic as well

A dump truck hit the back of the second tractor trailer

A third tractor trailer hit the dump truck from behind

A fourth tractor trailer hit the third tractor trailer from behind

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation. At the time of the collision the road way was dry and the sun was rising.

On the 3rd of August 2016 at approximately 6:55am the Middlesex OPP responded to a multi vehicle collision on the 401 Eastbound at Highbury Rd.

It appears at this time that 4 tractor trailers and one dump truck are involved in this motor vehicle collision. All vehicles were eastbound on the 401.

One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries by paramedics.

At this time the fast and middle lane are closed to facilitate clean up. Tow vehicles are currently at the scene removing the involved tractor trailers.

The 401 is expected to be open once all vehicles are removed.
