37 Year Old From Morris-Turnberry Facing Drunk Driving Charge

NORTH PERTH, ON) – On February 24, 2019 at 4:45 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County detachment were called by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver in the Municipality of North Perth.

OPP officers responded quickly and the driver was located operating a vehicle in the lane of oncoming traffic on Line 55. Officers determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. He was arrested and transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment for further testing.

Lau MAUNG, 37-years-old, of the Township of Morris-Turnberry was arrested and charged with;

Operation while impaired – alcohol

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on March 25, 2019 to answer the charges.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
