(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Tuesday August 30, 2016, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, and Perth County OPP officers, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Main Street residence in Atwood.
As a result of the execution of this warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana and cannabis resin. The estimated, combined street value of the seized controlled substances is $30,000.00. Police also seized offence related property that consisted of drug production paraphernalia and a prohibited weapon.
36-year-old Joseph BEFURT and 33-year-old Amanda DONOHUE, both residents of the Municipality of North Perth were arrested and charged with the following offences: Production of marihuana
Possession of marihuana
Possession of cannabis resin (solid)
Possession of cannabis resin (liquid)
Possession of a prohibited weapon
Donohue was released on an Appearance Notice while Befurt was released on a Promise to Appear. They are both scheduled to appear at the Listowel Court of Justice on October 05, 2016, where they will be answering to these charges.
