On the 2nd of November, 2013 members of the Street Crime Drug Unit located and arrested 2 males and 1 female responsible for a rash of thefts from several grocery and retail stores in the Barrie area. The trio were using a stolen vehicle taken from the Essa Road area on the 29th of October, 2013. Surveillance officers located the stolen vehicle in the south end of Barrie and began surveillance.
In the early afternoon two of the accused attempted to run a personal errand and attended in the area of the Methadone clinic located on Essa Road where surveillance officers took them into custody without incident. The third outstanding male was located shortly after and arrested as well without incident.
All 3 accused face a total of 35 charges.
Two of the accused parties were held pending a bail hearing and another was released with a future court date in December.
The investigation is continuing into the whereabouts of several items of stolen property.
