(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Thursday, August 27, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Grey County OPP, West Region Emergency Response Team, and West Region Canine, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Southgate Road 10, Township of Southgate, in Grey County.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana plants, cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin, and psilocybin. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances was $257,000.00.
Police also seized offence related property that consisted of cannabis marihuana production equipment and trafficking paraphernalia. A compound bow was also seized from the property.
Trevor LaCHANCE (33) of Barrie, Caleb WELLINGTON (25) of Orillia, and Stephanie ALLAN (24) of Sudbury, were all arrested and charged with production of cannabis marihuana, possession of cannabis marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of psilocybin. Trevor LaCHANCE was charged with an additional count of possession of a weapon while prohibited.
They were all held in custody for bail hearings.
