(MARATHON ON) -On Thursday the 11th of September 2014 approximately 9:45pm, Officers from the Marathon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) involving a single motor vehicle. The Superior North EMS and Marathon Fire Department attended as well.
The vehicle was travelling on the Marina Road approximately 1km from Peninsula Road when the collision occurred. One of the three passengers in the vehicle sustained critical injuries from the collision and has been airlifted to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The two other passengers refused medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle Dean MCCOLEMAN age 24, of Pic Mobert, Ontario has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm; Driving While Ability Impaired Cause Bodily Harm and Driving with More than 80mgs. of Alcohol in Blood. MCCOLEMAN.
