(COLBORNE, ON) – Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have received several complaints recently of a male being observed smoking marijuana and or selling it to students at a high school bus stop in Colborne, Ontario.
Northumberland OPP received four complaints in the month of November where a male was seen either smoking or potentially selling marijuana to local high school students at a bus stop.
On Tuesday morning at about 7:28 am, officers in plain clothes set up near the location and saw the male suspect exit his vehicle and proceed to a group of youths waiting for the bus where he sat down in the middle of them only to lit up a marijuana cigarette in front of the youths. The officers immediately approached the male and arrested him for possession of marijuana. The male was transported to Brighton OPP detachment where he was searched and was found to have 7.1 grams of marijuana on him.
Shawn Michael STEVENSON, age 23 from Colborne, Ontario has been charged with one count of possession of a schedule ll substance – cannabis marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on Tuesday January 28, 2015 at 9:30 am.
