(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at an Indian Line Road, Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nations, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Sunday, June 5, 2016 at approximately 5:12 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision.
Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that a grey coloured Nissan was travelling northbound on Sandusk Road when it entered the intersection of Indian Line Road. The vehicle continued northbound through the intersection and subsequently struck the side of a home before coming to rest in the rear of the yard.
The driver of the vehicle fled on foot after the homeowner confronted him. Six Nations Police along with officers from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Haldimand Detachment located the male running eastbound from the location through other residential properties.
A 22-year-old male from Caledonia, Ontario was taken into custody without incident and was transported to a local area hospital by paramedics for minor injuries that were sustained in the collision.
The occupants of the residence were not injured as a result of this incident.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
