(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday July 06, 2012, shortly before 6 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were requested to assist the North Perth Fire Department with traffic control at a harvester fire on Road 166 between Line 84 and Perth Line 86.
Investigation indicated that a John Deere 9200 Harvester while driving south bound along Road 166 started on fire. The operator was able to jump unscathed from the machine as flames were around the cab. The North Perth Fire Department fought the blaze but the $200,000.00 machine was totally destroyed.
Road 166 remained closed until about midnight when heavy towing equipment was able to remove the debris and the burnt-out harvester from the roadway.
