Barrie Police Service responded to a call for 2 disorderly males on Dunlop Street near the McDonald’s restaurant. The investigating officer observed 2 young men both in a drunken manner not properly dressed for the weather. They were unsteady on their feet and clearly intoxicated. Both young men are Barrie residents in their early twenties, 21 and 22 years old. Neither was in a position to look after themselves or each other. They were arrested and transported to the station.
Once at the station, one man was found to be in possession of what appeared to be cocaine. He was then charged criminally for possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody until sober and released with a future court date in December. The other young man will be released as well once sober, both receiving Provincial offence fines to pay. No one was injured during this incident.
