(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a 24-year-old male from Crediton following a stabbing incident that occurred late last night in Exeter.
Just before midnight on Friday, February 12, 2016 Huron County OPP and Huron County EMS were dispatched to a residence located on Carling Street after one of the occupants called 9-1-1 to report the stabbing.
Within minutes Police and EMS arrived on scene to find the victim, a 19-year-old male from Exeter. He had been stabbed in the leg with a knife by another guest at the house party. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. He was then later transferred to hospital in London where he is now recovering with non-life threatening injuries.
Initially the accused fled the scene however he returned to the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
Robert ALBISTON, 24 years of age from Crediton has been charged with Aggravated Assault & Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (Butterfly Knife) contrary to the Criminal Code. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 16, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
