(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Monday July 25, 2011 at approximately 2:15 p.m. a bicyclist was riding west bound on Line 36 east of Road 155 when he was struck from behind by a west bound pickup truck operated by an eighteen year old Twp. of Huron East male.
The 60 year old bicyclist from the Township of Perth East sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. He was transported to the Stratford General Hospital by Perth County Ambulance and was later rushed to the London Health Sciences Victoria Campus Trauma Unit where he is in stable condition.
The Perth County OPP closed Line 36 between Road 155 and Road 160 from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to allow for a safe investigation into the cause of this crash. West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were called in to assist with the investigation. Investigation into the cause of this crash is continuing.
