On October 11, 2015, as part of an enhanced Police presence for Oktoberfest, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service were conducting a RIDE program in the area of Westmount Road and Ottawa Street in the city of Kitchener. A motor vehicle was stopped entering the RIDE program and a lone male driver was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 200 Grams of Marihuana, a digital scale, and a quantity of Canadian Currency. As a result, an 18 year old Kitchener man has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
