(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 6, 2017 at approximately 8:40 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, near Eighth Line, Township of Centre Wellington. The officer observed a male driving a 1994 Volvo 960 at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
18-year-old Erik PAULOVITS of Grand Valley has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 15, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
