(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday November 12, 2012, shortly after 7 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a collision on Hwy 7/8 west of Road 109 (between Stratford and Shakespeare).
Investigation indicated that a car was driving east bound in the east bound lane when an east bound pickup truck caught up to the car. The pickup truck proceeded to pass the car and while passing on the west bound lane the driver lost control of the vehicle. The pickup truck fishtailed and entered the north ditch.
The female driver of the pickup truck, a seventeen year old Township of Perth East resident did not sustain injuries. She has been charged with “careless drivingâ€Â. The roads were snow covered at the time of this collision.
This collision was one of seven other minor crashes that occurred on Perth County roadways within the past 24 hours.
Remember adjust your driving to the road and weather conditions. Slow down and avoid sudden turns of the steering wheel, and sudden braking and accelerating, which could cause a skid. Extra caution should be exercised when driving in these road conditions.
