(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On September 6, 2016 at approximately 12:15 a.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officer stopped a Mercedes that was speeding on Highway 6 near Stone Road, Guelph and located suspected marihuana in the vehicle. The driver along with the two passengers were arrested and during the search, a firearm was located under the driver’s seat. The investigation also revealed that the driver and one of the passengers were not to be together as a condition upon being released from a previous charge.
A 17-year-old male from Brampton has been charged with;
Possession of Marihuana Under 30 Grams- Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Transport a Firearm in a Careless Manner- Criminal Code (C.C.)
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm- C.C.
Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm- C.C.
Fail to Comply with an Undertaking- C.C.
An 18-year-old male from Brampton is charged Fail to Comply with an Undertaking-C.C.
Both were scheduled for a bail hearing on September 6, 2016.
