(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On April 4, 2015, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Charing Cross Road.
Just before 7:00 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Chevrolet Equinox that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of approximately 159 km/hr.
The 29 year old male driver, from Brantford, has been charged with racing. His driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
