15 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested After Collision

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – At approximately 06:00 a.m., on October 9, 2015, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash.

A grey Toyota sport utility vehicle (SUV) had struck a commercial building in the 100 block of Symes Street. There was no damage to the building.

Officers subsequently located the driver, a 15-year-old male, and determined that he had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.

As a result of the police investigation, the youth, from South West Middlesex, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and resist peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to appear in a London court to answer to the charges.

The youth will not be named, in accordance with provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
