Elizabeth Loerchner Caught Drunk Driving & Speeding

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On March 16, 2024, at 9:04 a.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic patrol in the area of Base Line and Londesboro Road in Central Huron.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was travelling over the 80km/hr speed limit. The stopped the motor vehicle and conducted Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) on the driver. As police were speaking to the driver, they were displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD) which registered a fail. The driver was transported to the Huron County OPP Detachment for further testing.

Elizabeth Loerchner, 43-year-old from Huron County was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on April 22, 2024.

The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education.
