(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged two motorists with impaired driving in two days.
- On December 4, 2023, at 12:44 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer checked a vehicle along Third Street in Walkerton and found the driver had been drinking alcohol. Airk MACDONALD, 20-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams, Care of Control with Open Liquor and Unauthorized Licence Plates. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on January 10, 2024, to answer to the charges.
- On December 3, 2023, at 7:47 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a vehicle stopped on a front lawn along Bruce County Road 6 in Kinloss Township. Officers responded and found the driver had been drinking alcohol. Fernando DEMELO, 42-years-old, from the Municipality of Huron East was charged with Impaired Driving. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on February 7, 2024, to answer to the charge.
An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
