Two More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two impaired drivers on April 4, 2023, after they were involved in collisions.

  • On April 4, 2023, at 6:29 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision along Concession 12 east in Carrick Twp. Officers arrived to find the vehicle was at rest in the ditch. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests. Donald DAHMS, 75-years-old, of Carrick Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on May 24, 2023, to answer to the charges.
  • On April 4, 2023, 10:38 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Mount Forest Avenue in Kincardine. Officers arrived to find that the stop sign had been knocked down. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxiliyzer Technician for breath tests. Mark YALDEN, 50-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving and Fail to Remain. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on June 28, 2023, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
