Speeder Has Vehicle Impounded For 14 Days

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On Thursday, July 1, 2021, at approximately 12:31 p.m., an officer with the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Highway 24 South in the County of Brant.

The officer was conducting traffic enforcement when they located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle’s speed was locked on radar at more than 50 km/h over the speed limit in a posted 80 km/h zone.

Police have charged Tiffany Lianne WEDMAN, 32-years-of-age from Norfolk County, Ontario with the following offences:

· Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed

· Speeding 50+ kilometres per hour over the speed limit.

The vehicle was impounded at the roadside for 14 days under new legislation that came into effect on the same date. The individual’s driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford at a later date.
