Rollover Leads To Impaired Charge

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against a Grand Bend resident following a single motor vehicle collision that took place earlier this year in March.

Just after 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, Huron County OPP, Lambton EMS and the Zurich Fire Department responded to a report of a roll-over crash that took place on Blackbush Line. Upon arrival first responders attended to the injured driver. While interacting with the driver the investigating officer made some observations that led him to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was unable to provide breath samples at the time due to his injuries sustained in the crash. As a result, blood samples were later analyzed by the Centre of Forensic Sciences, and they indicated the driver’s Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was above the legal limit.

Kyle CORMACK, 26 years of age from Grand Bend has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 8, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
