(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A call about a suspicious person walking in the vicinity of the former Bluewater Youth Correctional Centre led to the arrest and charges against a London resident.
On November 19, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to Bluewater Veteran’s Highway near Black’s Point Road to look for a suspicious person that was seen in the area. Upon arrival a Huron OPP officer located and spoke with a person that was walking in the area. Upon completing some checks on the suspect the officer learned the accused was failing to abide by a condition of an undertaking.
Accordingly the accused was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest was completed. The accused was found to be in possession of break-in tools, counterfeit money and suspected methamphetamine.
An additional check also revealed the accused was failing to comply with a condition of his probation sentence.
Robert MacMILLAN, 38 years of age from London has been charged with: Possession of Break-in Instruments, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession of Counterfeit Money, Breach of Probation – two counts and Fail to Comply with Undertaking – two counts.
The accused has since been released from custody.
