Parent Arrested For Dangerous Driving

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A South Huron resident will have to attend court later this summer to answer to a Dangerous Operation charge laid this week by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On Monday, July 5, 2021 at approximately 6:43 p.m. Huron County OPP officers received a call about a driver that was driving very erratically on Elimville Line. Police had an opportunity to speak with two witnesses that were pulling camper trailers when they were passed by the accused. Investigators learned once the accused passed the camper trailers the accused heavily applied the brakes causing the camper trailers in behind to nearly lose control and crash on the gravel roadway.

The subsequent investigation revealed the accused was driving in a manner that was considered to be reckless and dangerous. As a result, Matthew PARENT, 27 years of age from Exeter has been charged with Dangerous Operation. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 16, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
