MILLS Arrested Again – Passed Out Behind Wheel, Stolen Property Etc.

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Thorndale resident with twelve offences after an observant citizen contacted police for a driver passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the Kirkton LCBO parking lot on January 10th.

Huron OPP officers were dispatched to the Kirkton LCBO located on Road 164 in South Huron at approximately 11:30 a.m. on January 10th. When officers arrived, they observed a white Ford Escape parked in the LCBO parking lot with a lone male behind the wheel. The vehicle was running, and the driver was eventually awoken by police. Officers had reason to believe that the driver was impaired by drug, and he was subsequently arrested. A quantity of suspected fentanyl was found on the driver during a search.

The accused was then transported to the Wellington OPP Detachment for further tests by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert.

Further investigation revealed that the Ford Escape and attached license plates were stolen out of London. The driver was prohibited from driving and was also bound by a probation order and another release order.
