Impaired Driver Ditches Vehicle

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A driver from Exeter is facing a charge of Impaired Operation following an incident that took place last weekend north of Exeter.

At approximately 7:47 p.m. on October 3, 2021 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a call about a vehicle that was in the ditch on MacDonald Road. Officers arrived minutes later whereupon they spoke with the driver. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer observed the driver to be displaying signs that he was impaired by a drug. As such the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was subsequently transported to the London OPP Detachment for further testing.

A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) completed an evaluation and it was determined the driver was indeed impaired by a drug.

Kyle CAMPBELL, 35 years of age, from Exeter has been charged with Operation While Impaired. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 29, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
