Impaired Charge In Clifford

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On May 10, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple traffic complaints involving a passenger vehicle that was driving around the community of Clifford. 

Police responded to the area located the vehicle on Mill Street East. While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by the consumption of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

Stephen Russel GIRODAT, 29-years-old of Brantford has been charged with Impaired Operation- Drug or Alcohol and Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood).

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The Accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on May 18, 2021 to answer to the charges.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
