Drunk Driver Arrested Near Goderich

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop last weekend just north of Goderich.  

On Friday, August 5, 2022, at approximately 11:50 p.m. Huron County OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint on Bluewater Highway just north of Goderich when a pickup truck entered into the checkpoint. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol thus a roadside test was conducted. The driver complied and registered a fail. 

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he later provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples were analyzed and they were found to be over the legal limit.

James SINNETT, 51 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). 

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 26, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
