(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – This past weekend, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid an impaired driving charge and served a three-day driver’s license suspension at R.I.D.E. checkpoints.
- On September 16, 2023, at 2:00 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting RIDE along Bruce County Road 33 in Bruce Township when a vehicle stopped. Officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests. Brenda WILLITS, 39-years-old from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on November 29, 2023, to answer to the charge.
- On September 16, 2023, at 12:35 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting RIDE along Bruce County Road 23 in Kincardine Township when a vehicle stopped. Officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A 51-year-old Municipality of Kincardine resident was served a three-day driver’s license suspension following a warn range result at the roadside.
An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
