Colin CORRIVEAU Arrested

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with several criminal offences following a traffic complaint on Friday January 12th. 

Police received information from a concerned citizen that an individual may be driving while under the influence in the Municipality of Bluewater (Bayfield). The complaint was received by police just before 8:00 p.m. on January 12th, 2024. Officers patrolled the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle as described by the caller.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle north of Bayfield, however the driver failed to stop for police. The vehicle entered a property on Old River Road in Bluewater and the driver exited the vehicle. Police attempted to arrest the driver, but the driver resisted. Officers were able to place the suspect under arrest for Impaired Operation and take them into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests before an OPP qualified breath technician which resulted in breath samples exceeding the legal limit.

Colin CORRIVEAU, 42 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Flight from Peace Officer,

–      Resist Peace Officer,

–      Mischief Under $5,000.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 26th, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
