Another Meth Bust – Matthew HALLMAN Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers investigated two smash and grabs that took place this past weekend in Goderich.

On November 5, 2022, at approximately 10:49 p.m. forced entry was made to a business located on Huron Road in Goderich. Upon arrival, officers found a smashed main entrance glass door and discovered that cigarettes, cigars, drinks and candy had been stolen from the business. 

Officers reviewed the video surveillance and were able to identify the suspect who was located and arrested on November 6, at 09:12 a.m.

Matthew HALLMAN, 46 years of age of no fixed address was charged with the following offences:

  • Break and Enter
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking

The accused was held for a bail hearing and was later released from custody the same day with a later court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

On November 6, 2022, at approximately 11:50 p.m. forced entry was made to a business located on Bayfield Road in Goderich. Police were dispatched and arrived on scene discovering the main entrance glass door had been smashed and that cigarettes, drinks, candy, and a wireless speaker had been stolen from the business. A review of the video surveillance was conducted which showed the lone suspect to be Matthew HALLMAN, 46 years of age who had been released from police custody earlier on this date. HALLMAN was wearing the same clothing as he was upon his release.

Matthew HALLMAN, 46 years of age of no fixed address was eventually located on November 7, 2022, in the town of Goderich. HALLMAN was arrested and further charged with the following offences:

  •   Break and Enter
  •   Theft Under $5,000

Upon HALLMAN’s arrest, a search was conducted which yielded illegal substances. Further charges were laid as follows:

  •   Possession of Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  •   Possession of Schedule I Substance – Opioid

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is currently in custody.
