(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Kitchener resident with impaired driving offences following a traffic complaint received by police from the public on August 27th, 2023.
On Sunday morning, August 27th at 5:42 a.m., Huron County OPP were contacted by a concerned citizen who reported a suspected impaired driver attempting to depart an address on London Road in Central Huron. Police arrived on scene minutes later and located the automobile matching the complainant’s description.
Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests before an OPP qualified breath technician.
Adam KOPET, 38 years of age from Kitchener has been charged with:
– Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,
– Operation while Impaired – Over 80.
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 18th at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
