4 More Stunt Drivers Charged

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four drivers over the long weekend after they were all speeding more than 50 km/h over the limit in Perth County.  

On September 2, 2023, at approximately 12:10 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Perth Road 180 in West Perth after it was found to be travelling more than 140 km/h in an 80 km/h limit zone.

As a result, a 22-year-old of Windsor has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt

On September 2, 2023, at approximately 9:01 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Road 164 in North Perth after it was found to be travelling more than 135 km/h in an 80 km/h limit zone.

As a result, an 18-year-old of Linwood has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive speed

On September 3, 2023, at approximately 12:02 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Wallace Avenue North in North Perth after it was found to be travelling more than 95 km/h in a 50 km/h limit zone.

As a result, an 18-year-old of Palmerston has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive speed

On September 3, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Perth Road 140 in North Perth after it was found to be travelling more than 131 km/h in an 80 km/h limit zone.

As a result, an 24-year-old of Listowel has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive speed

 In each incident, a 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
