22 Year Old Arrested Following Collision

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Wellesley resident with Impaired and Dangerous Driving offences following a collision on Friday March 31st

Huron County OPP were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on March 31st, 2023, at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Glens Hill Road in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered that the involved pickup truck had collided with fence posts, a mailbox, and hydro pole before coming to rest in a farm field.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver ultimately refused to provide breath samples to police.

Dean KOCH, 22 years of age from Wellesley has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand,

–      Dangerous Operation.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
