(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 23-year-old male with theft and drug related offences following an investigation of a theft from a business on Argyle Street South, Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario.
On Saturday December 17, 2016, at approximately 12:22 p.m., OPP responded to Shoppers Drug Mart after receiving a report of a male suspect who attended the store on December 16, 2016 and removed some items.
OPP investigation determined that a male had attended the store on Friday December 16, 2016 and removed some electronics and cell phone accessories. The male then re-attended the Shoppers Drug Mart on Saturday December 17, 2016 when witnesses identified the male suspect and contacted police. The same male suspect was also being investigated by OPP for taking a motor vehicle without consent.
OPP attended the store and located the male in a vehicle where they also observed him to be in possession of a controlled substance.
OPP has charged 23-year-old Evan FLINT of Cayuga, Haldimand County, Ontario with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance
Possession of a Schedule II Substance
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
Theft under $5,000
Take motor vehicle without consent
He was held for a bail hearing in Provincial Court in Cayuga to answer to the charges.
