(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On March 6, 2017 at approximately 10:40 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2016 Volkswagen Golf travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 148 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
43-year-old Eric S. TELFER of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on April 5, 2017.His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
