OPP Officer Assists Driver in Distress

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – While on route to an unrelated call for service a Bracebridge OPP officer stopped behind a vehicle parked on the side of Highway 11. The driver of the vehicle was in distress and the officer acted quickly to provide assistance.

On October 29th, 2013 at 9:50 pm the Bracebridge OPP officer noticed what looked like a disabled vehicle on Hwy 11 Southbound, south of Taylor Road. The officer was on route to another unrelated call but turned around to check on the vehicle. As the officer approached the vehicle he noticed the elderly male was in distress and his elderly wife was attempting to assist him. The officer called for an ambulance and assisted the male until paramedics arrived. The male was immediately transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The officer then brought the wife of the driver to the hospital and assisted in contacting their family members to assist the elderly couple. Due to the officer’s keen observation and quick response the driver was given immediate attention.
