Update: Injured Hunter Released From Hospital

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a hunting accident that occurred yesterday afternoon northeast of Blyth. At approximately 4:00 p.m. Huron County OPP officers and paramedics from Huron County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended a property on St. Michael’s Road to assist a male that had been accidentally shot.

Police learned the injured male was participating in a group hunt when one of the other hunters in the group fired a shotgun round at a passing deer. The round missed the deer and struck the male.

The injured male, a 42 year old from North Huron was released this afternoon from London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
