The search for a lost hunter in Greater Madawaska Township ended well when he was located at approx. 5am. On Wednesday November 6 the 45-year-old male realized he was lost and deep in the bush about 2pm. When he had not been located by 9pm police were called. The search ended well for several reasons, he had supplies with him, he had a walkie-talkie to communicate with, and he stopped wandering when he realized he was lost and waited for help to arrive. The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and a Canine Unit were dispatched to the scene, and co-ordinated the search.
