(DRYDEN, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report from a Dryden resident of an ongoing scam and the OPP would like the public to be aware. The resident was contacted by a male with a heavy accent stating that he was from Microsoft. He further advised that her computer was in trouble and that he needed access to her files to fix the problem. The resident did not allow him access and called the OPP. This is a scam, do not allow anyone access to your computer or your personal files for any reason. If you feel that your computer is at risk for a virus, take it to a professional for repairs.
