(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Saturday November 30, 2013 just after 11:00pm members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment observed a Honda Accord traveling east on Highway #60 demonstrating erratic driving behaviour. The vehicle was stopped to check on the sobriety of the driver and it was found that she had been drinking.
As a result of the stop the driver advised she was coming from a Christmas party and it appeared that she had been drinking. Hailey BARTLETT (19yrs) of Huntsville was eventually arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and having more than 80mgs of alcohol per 100 mltrs of blood. She will appear in Bracebridge court on December 17, 2013 to answer to her charges.
The OPP is also reminding drivers that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. If you are planning on attending any Christmas parties and consuming alcohol, hand your host your keys when you arrive and ask them to call for a taxi when the party is over. Huntsville OPP is hoping that all make the right decision over the holiday season in keeping our community and roads safer.
