FESTIVE R.I.D.E. WEEK ONE – BANCROFT OPP

(Bancroft, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) completed the first week of their annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign. The Bancroft OPP was visible conducting R.I.D.E. checks at various locations throughout the Bancroft detachment area between Saturday November 23rd and Saturday November 30th. A total of 926 vehicles were checked.

Officers charged one adult male with operate a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood and issued one 3 day driver’s licence suspension to a driver for registering a “warn” on an approved screening device. 7 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid and 1 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charge was laid.
